Nursery
At Katey’s Nursery & Pre-School, we offer a lively, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children up to age 5. Our primary focus is to ensure that every child feels happy, supported, and valued while developing their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills. Guided by our dedicated and professional team, children are encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive in a safe and caring atmosphere. We are committed to fostering each child’s unique potential during these crucial early years.
We follow a thoughtfully designed curriculum with adaptive learning tailored to each child’s unique needs, based on the seven areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Our activities are inspired by the children’s interests and organised around engaging themes throughout the year, with regular evaluations to track progress.
We believe in the power of outdoor learning, as it promotes physical development, helping children build motor skills and stay active. It also supports cognitive growth by encouraging exploration, creativity, and problem-solving in a natural environment. Additionally, outdoor play fosters social interaction and emotional resilience as children learn to cooperate and navigate challenges with their peers.

Staff at several of the local schools our children go onto, comment they can always tell a child from Kateys because of their confidence, and how well prepared they are for school. We like to think that when your child leaves us, they go onto any school or setting you choose, and are fully prepared and happy within themselves.

Nutrition
We have our own dedicated in-house Chef based in Ham, Carlos de Oliveira. Everyday Carlos prepares exceptional, nutritious, and delicious dishes for the children. Our meals are balanced, interesting and always enjoyed enthusiastically by children and staff alike. Our staff, many of whom are passionate foodies themselves, eat the same dishes alongside the children at every mealtime. Their only complaint ever being, that we are ruining their diets as the food is too good!
